Personal Growth Made Simple, and Personal

We're a simple people at Cymplify. We like simple pleasures, simple plans, simple menus, simple explanations ... you get it.

We have a simple pursuit every day: to help people (including ourselves, of course) move from where we are to where we want to go and lead better lives -- to think better, feel better, and be better.

Nothing too complicated or overwhelming, just move ourselves forward a little bit at a time, here and there. Keep our feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars, as Casey Kasem used to say.

We have seven core values at Cymplify, that guide our own forward movement and keep us on our right path. Last month we introduced our LOVE core value: We believe in having a good time doing meaningful stuff. Try to deeply enjoy what you do and who you do it with. You look much better when you glow.

That core value seems appropriate for February -- to think about love in the month of valentines.

This is March. The start of spring. The wearing of green. The month of madness.

For us, March seems the right time to be especially mindful of (and shine some sunlight on) our GROW core value:

We believe in the adventure of becoming … body, mind, and heart. Take it all in. Do it wrong. Do it right. Clean up after.

What does that mean?

Pink Floyd might say it's about not exchanging a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage.

Flo Rida might tell you to have no fear and sleep in the lion's den.

Steppenwolf might tell you to head out on the highway.

Miley Cyrus might tell you to go climb a mountain. (Or ride a wrecking ball.)

Buckaroo Banzai might tell you to live like you're gonna die tomorrow and study like you're gonna live forever.

Buzz Aldrin might shout "Explore Or Expire!"

All of it decent advice. Still, to grow, personally, is essentially a personal thing. It's about you exploring and discovering what a better you could be. Should be. It's a personal adventure, for life.

So, what can you do this month to GROW a little bit for the better? Well, that's personal, right? But there are lots and lots and lots of things you can do to explore and discover the better you. Here are 10 simple ones ...

And, if you do one of these 10 before the end of the month and write to tell us about it, you'll be entered to win a free copy of our book, Change Your Mind: A Cymple Guide From Here to There (and some good points in between).

So jump in. Pick one. Do it and tell us about it.

  • Go to a local community play, lecture, workshop, or concert

  • Read an old classic novel you've always meant to read

  • Cook (yourself) something you've never cooked or eaten before

  • Go out at night, find a star constellation, and learn about it

  • Volunteer for one day at a new (to you) charitable event or organization

  • Visit a small community or town around your home you've never visited

  • Go to your local library and borrow some books for the weekend

  • Go for a walk in a park or trail you haven't gone to before

  • Research another country, culture, or religion you've always been curious about

  • Learn a new skill or subject, anything (from aromatherapy to making zucchini bread).

If you're feeling extra frisky, read about our free Change Your Mind preview session for companies and organizations, or our free regular CYM Meetup Group for individuals, or our CYM book (not free, but worth it). They're all meant to help you explore and discover your own personal better path.

Go mad in March and grow a little. We want to hear how it goes!
